Thanksgiving Store Hours

I’m so EXCITED! It’s Thanksgiving, and I want to spend as much time as possible with family. So, we will be closed for the holidays starting with a half day on Wednesday and then through Sunday. We will reopen again on the 29th. However, because I love what I do, I have been taking Wednesday appointments for the afternoon. Are you coming to town and want to stop in? Do you know of someone who needs to get started on alterations and it’s the only time that will work? Let me know and we’ll work it out. But come Wednesday afternoon………. once all the tuxedos are out and my last client is satisfied……. I am headed out the door!

My Brain On a Hanger

Nothing makes me happier then to work with a bride on her custom gown. We began with just a sketch and working together create a dream. And always, I encourage everyone to be honest in what they are feeling and thinking during the process. I’ve heard it all… Or at least thought I had until the other day a bride is gazing at her gown and says

“That’s like my brain on a hanger! It’s exactly what I pictured!”

Once you push past the images of a BRAIN, it’s really a fun description of custom design. Having your images, your thoughts, your “brain” on a hanger! And just like there can never be another you, your gown is created exclusively and will never be made again!

We have been having some beautiful weekend weather for the past few weddings. It’s so exciting to see when you know that a bride is planning something outdoors. And I have worked with some many wonderful brides preparing for today.

Pretty Details and Other Steamings

I love working with brides on their gown alterations and then being invited to come help with your preparations for the wedding. And sometimes, I may never have met the bride and still have the opportunity to help with dressing for the day. For whatever reason, I LOVE being there for a wedding as a bride is excitedly dressing for the day of her dreams!

It usually starts with being asked…. Do you do steaming? And yes, I do! I offer two different options for steaming your gown, veil, and bridesmaids’ dresses.

Option 1 * Pretty Details – a “Day of” Dressing Service, where I come to the place the bride is dressing before time and steam the wedding gown, veil, bridesmaids’ dress, and flowergirl dress. Having brought my clever little pink “day-of” kit, I can then stay and help everyone get dressed. I’ve done laces, bows, last minutes alterations, hunted down lost earrings, removed accidental make-up stains, and even repaired wilting bouquets when needed. All of this is available for the entire bridal party for $150. If you have out of town guests or mothers who would also like some attention in steaming their gowns, it’s only an additional $10.

Option 2 * I can also give your gown a week of steaming where you drop the wedding gown and veil off at the store a week or several days before the weekend. Your gown and veil are steamed and ready for you to pick up the day before. Often, brides will run by and pick them up on the way to rehearsal. The gown is carefully loaded into the car and transported from here to there with no problems. It will then be waiting the next day for the bride to arrive. When you’re careful and quick, the traveling from one place to the other doesn’t add to many wrinkles that won’t fall out once delivered. To steam the wedding gown and veil here at the shop is $50. Every extra gown is $10, so bridesmaids, mothers, and out-of-town guests are welcome to swing by as well! I do ask that I’m given the heads up that you’re coming though….. Just a thought…..

Once again, I’ve fallen behind on the congrats to so many wonderful couples…… But here I’ve found a handy-dandy publish calender and can schedule publishing the congrats before the day of. So…. this may just work. See, it’s yesterday and I’m already saying happy wedding today!

Congratulations to Kayla and Patrick! I’ve had a blast working with Kayla and her girls and was thrilled when she returned with Patrick in tow for tuxedos! I hope you continue to have a wonderful weekend wedding at your fantastic destination.

Change in Business Hours This Week

So, I’m a little behind in updates. And I’ll be getting back to those I promise. Due to a family emergency, life outside of business has gotten a little complicated. This week, I will be closing from 1-2pm every afternoon from Monday to Friday. My regulare evening hours from 6-8pm on Thursday and Friday will closed for walk-in clients. If you need some time on either of those evenings, please give me a call (850) 668-0259 and we’ll set up an appointment. Thank you everyone for understanding and I will going back to regular store hours (which some days is about 24/7) next week.
