I love working with brides on their gown alterations and then being invited to come help with your preparations for the wedding. And sometimes, I may never have met the bride and still have the opportunity to help with dressing for the day. For whatever reason, I LOVE being there for a wedding as a bride is excitedly dressing for the day of her dreams!
It usually starts with being asked…. Do you do steaming? And yes, I do! I offer two different options for steaming your gown, veil, and bridesmaids’ dresses.
Option 1 * Pretty Details – a “Day of” Dressing Service, where I come to the place the bride is dressing before time and steam the wedding gown, veil, bridesmaids’ dress, and flowergirl dress. Having brought my clever little pink “day-of” kit, I can then stay and help everyone get dressed. I’ve done laces, bows, last minutes alterations, hunted down lost earrings, removed accidental make-up stains, and even repaired wilting bouquets when needed. All of this is available for the entire bridal party for $150. If you have out of town guests or mothers who would also like some attention in steaming their gowns, it’s only an additional $10.
Option 2 * I can also give your gown a week of steaming where you drop the wedding gown and veil off at the store a week or several days before the weekend. Your gown and veil are steamed and ready for you to pick up the day before. Often, brides will run by and pick them up on the way to rehearsal. The gown is carefully loaded into the car and transported from here to there with no problems. It will then be waiting the next day for the bride to arrive. When you’re careful and quick, the traveling from one place to the other doesn’t add to many wrinkles that won’t fall out once delivered. To steam the wedding gown and veil here at the shop is $50. Every extra gown is $10, so bridesmaids, mothers, and out-of-town guests are welcome to swing by as well! I do ask that I’m given the heads up that you’re coming though….. Just a thought…..
